Chairman & Consulting Advisor

My construction career started in 1962 as a superintendent. Along the way I have been involved with all types of construction: multi- and single-family homes, spec projects and commercial projects. In 1977 I started Estrin Development which I managed for 12 years. Then I joined EJM Development in Los Angeles as a project manager overseeing all major jobs. It was while working at EJM in 1987 that I met Eric Hinds. Eric worked under me as a superintendent and then as a subcontractor. After the 1994 earthquake we handled the restoration and renovation of student housing at California State University Northridge. This led to several more multi-unit remodels together. In 1996 we became partners and Estrin-Hinds Construction was born. We successfully built numerous projects together until my retirement in 2008.

Since then I support Estrin-Hinds in a mentor/advisor position. My wife, Ronna, and I live in Palm Springs full-time and I am so lucky to have ample time to spoil my five grandchildren, work out each day, and enjoy the beauty of the desert. As I have grown, I like to say, “Enjoy life to the fullest while you are young and don’t wait for retirement.”

President & CEO

I am grateful for sharing this remarkable journey with my partner and mentor, Ron Estrin, with whom I co-founded Estrin-Hinds Construction (E-H) in 1996. We had a 22-year adventure together until Ron stepped down as CEO in 2008, when I moved into this role.

My primary focuses are delivering the highest quality product and service to each of our clients. I started in the construction field 33 years ago with my “bags on” and along the way I became proficient in most trades. My hands-on experience and style inform Estrin-Hinds’ attention to detail and quality. My business degree from San Diego State University has given me the foundation to guide E-H’s systems for all phases of the field and office. Our motto, “It takes a village,” is how I approach each project—we pride ourselves on being part of your dream project.

My personal life is driven by my passions: pottery; CrossFit; surfing; and rock climbing with my wife, Christine, and my two daughters, Sierra and Gaia. We spend our free time together camping and enjoying nature.

Director of Operations

I’m proud to be a “The Other Valley” girl, having been born and raised in Pasadena, California in the San Gabriel Valley. I always loved history and completed my graduate studies in it at San Diego State University. I ended up spending 10 years in the insurance claims business before entering the construction industry. Steeped in construction for more than 25 years, I worked with a general contractor and structural engineer in Pasadena and an electrical contractor in Northridge before joining E-H, where I have remained for 14 years. I’m a “jill-of-all-trades” at E-H, overseeing HR, accounting, project management and more. I love traveling—mostly in Europe—and visiting family in the Midwest. I feel privileged to be involved in my church’s small group ministry for the past 12 years.

Job Superintendent / Estimator

I grew up in the Philippines where I earned my bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of San Carlos, Cebu City, and passed professional engineering licensure in 1986. My early career as a civil engineer consisted of island rural development projects including farm roads, bridges, irrigation dams, water supply systems, and school buildings. I moved to The Mariana Islands of Micronesia before heading to Hawaii and eventually to Los Angeles, California, to work in the construction industry. My titles have included project engineer, contract administrator, estimator and superintendent. I have a broad background in the building industry and in the past 25 years have worked on a wide variety of projects: duty-free shops, Hard Rock Café restaurants, food processing facilities, banks, retail stores, school campuses, mini-parks, medical offices, surgery centers and more.

I love the cool coastal breeze, mountain ranges and warm sunshine that define my two homes: the Pacific Islands and Southern California.
